Smutná zpráva pro příznivce královské hry: pátý ročník mezinárodního šachového turnaje Open Česká Třebová 2009 se letos v létě neuskuteční.
„Je to škoda, ale v současnosti se s tím nedá nic dělat. Jde o rozhodnutí majitele pořádající společnosti RC Sport pana Vlastislava Přečka, který se rozhodl pro obchodní a reklamní aktivity v jiných sportech. Nechci mluvit za někoho jiného, ale jisté je, že důležitou roli při tomto rozhodování sehrála složitá ekonomická situace,“ sdělil manažer turnaje Mgr. Vladimír Vaněk.
Východočeský mezinárodní šachový turnaj si během krátké doby získal v šachových kuloárech velmi dobré jméno. První ročník se hrál v roce 2006
(29. dubna. – 6. května) v Ústí nad Orlicí, druhý se uskutečnil ve stejném roce (26. srpna - 2. září) v České Třebové. Ve stejném městě měli šachisté dostaveníčko ještě dvakrát, a to v roce 2007 (10. - 17. srpna) a v roce 2008 (8. - 15. srpna). Rekordní počet 140 šachistů z osmi zemí přijel do České Třebové předloni, vloni se hrálo o rekordní dotaci ve výši 130 tisíc korun.

OPEN Česká Třebová 2009 cancelled!
Bad news for friends of the royal game: the fifth annual international chess tournament Open Česká Třebová 2009 will not be taking place this year.
“It is a pity but at present there is nothing we can do about it. The decision was made by the owner of the organizing company RC Sport, Mr. Vlastislav Přeček, who has decided to focus their commercial and promotional activity on other sports. I would not like to speak for others but it is certain that the complicated economic situation played its part in the decision making process,” said the manager of the tournament Mr. Vladimír Vaněk.
The Eastern Bohemian international chess tournament has made a very good name for itself in chess circles in a short period of time. The inaugural tournament took place in 2006 (29th of April to 6th of May) in the town of Ústí nad Orlicí and the second one was held in the same year (26th of August to 2nd of September) in Česká Třebová. This town welcomed chess players to two more tournaments, in 2007 (10th to 17th of August) and 2008 (8th to 15th of September). A record number of 140 chess players from eight different countries came to Česká Třebová two years ago and last year record prize money of 135 thousand crowns was played for.

Traurige Nachricht für alle Freunde des königlichen Spieles: der geplante fünfte Jahrgang des internationalen Schachturnieres Open Česká Třebová 2009 findet im heurigen Sommer nicht statt.
„Es ist schade, aber zurzeit können wir damit nichts machen. Es handelt sich um eine Entscheidung des Eigentümers der Veranstalter-Gesellschaft RC Sport, Herrn Vlastislav Přeček, der sich für Geschäfts- und Werbeaktivitäten in anderen Sportarten entschieden hat. Ich möchte nicht für andere sprechen, aber es ist sicher, dass die komplizierte ökonomische Situation eine wichtige Rolle in dieser Entscheidung gespielt hat,“ so der Turniermanager Mgr. Vladimír Vaněk.
Das internationale Schachturnier in Ostböhmen hat in kurzer Zeit einen sehr guten Namen in Schachkreisen erlangt. Der erste Jahrgang fand im Jahr 2006 in Ústí nad Orlicí statt (29. April – 6. Mai), der zweite in demselben Jahr in Česká Třebová (26. August – 2. September). In dieser Stadt fanden sich die Schachspieler noch zweimal zusammen, und zwar im Jahr 2007 (10. bis 17. August) und im Jahr 2008 (8. bis 15. August). Vorvoriges Jahr kam in Česká Třebová eine Rekordzahl von 140 Schachspielern aus acht Ländern zusammen, im Vorjahr wurde wieder um einen rekordmäßigen Preis von 135 000 Kronen gespielt.
